IDABEL WARRIORS
Coach: BRAXTON KINCADE
5-6
Idabel heads into the 2026 season looking to build on last year’s playoff appearance under head coach Braxton Kincade, who is in his second year in the role and fourth overall at the school. Kincade says, “The Idabel Warriors will once again feature a good mix of youth and experience,” and he expects his team to “play much faster being in our second year in the system” as they aim to build on that postseason run. With six starters returning on both sides of the ball, the staff believes this group has the foundation to take another step.
Offensively, Idabel will operate out of a Run N’ Shoot attack, as Kincade notes they “want to stretch the defense horizontally and vertically out of 10/11/12 personnel.” Senior wide receiver Jordyn Lewis headlines the offense after a standout season with 775 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns through the air, plus 225 rushing yards and four more scores. He is joined on the perimeter by senior wide receiver Jayron White and sophomore wideout Je’Caryous “Poppa” Frost, who is described as “electric with the ball in his hands” and the kind of player who “could be in a phone booth with 3 defenders and he’d leave them twisted around each other.” Up front, junior lineman Marquis Furneaux, senior lineman Saul Gil and junior tight end Titus Baker all started 11 games last year, giving Idabel an experienced core in the trenches.
Defensively, the team will base out of a 3-3-5 scheme designed to “fly around fast and swarm the football,” mirroring the program’s emphasis on speed. Baker anchors the defensive front after posting 67 tackles, eight tackles for loss and three sacks, while sophomore defensive lineman Bryce Bee adds size and depth up front. At linebacker, seniors Davion Byrd and Brenner Battiest-Moore provide experience in the middle of the defense.
On the back end, Lewis is a true two-way star and the program’s VYPE Top 100 nominee, with Kincade calling him “an all-around athlete” and “a dominating CB who can take away your team’s number one WR and then turn around and score on your number one CB.” He recorded 38 tackles, nine pass breakups and three interceptions, returning two of them for touchdowns, and allowed only one score in coverage as a junior. Senior corner Breylin Galloway adds another experienced presence in the secondary, rounding out a defense that expects to play fast and aggressive as Idabel looks to push deeper into the playoffs in 2026.
