IDABEL LADY WARRIORS FASTPITCH SOFTBALL
Coach: KENNY RICHARDSON
1-21
Idabel enters 2026 in rebuild mode but with a very different level of optimism and preparation than a year ago. Richardson, in his first year at the school, says the staff is “very optimistic about the upcoming season” after implementing new drills and workouts that the girls are responding to “very well.” The Warriors have been putting in two‑a‑day sessions throughout the summer, and the staff believes that work has them “in a much better position heading into the season” despite last year’s record.
Coach Richardson describes Mackenzie “Mak” Cravens is the centerpiece of the group. Richardson describes her as “just a pure athlete who can do anything ask of her,” praising her as an extremely hard worker and “great team leader” who sets the tone for the program’s new standard. She will be surrounded by an intriguing mix of young talent and underclassmen who are expected to contribute right away.

Freshman Avery Boyd brings the kind of mentality coaches love. The staff calls her “a dawg with ice water in her veins” and notes that “nothing phases her,” projecting her as a huge contributor who could lead off in the order and play multiple positions defensively. Sophomore Adelynn “Addy” Clardy is a middle‑of‑the‑order power bat who is “only begun to realize how good she really is,” and she pairs her offensive punch with “phenomenal” defensive work behind the plate and a strong arm that should discourage opposing base‑stealers.
Reece England gives Idabel a true two‑way anchor in the circle and at third base. Richardson says she will be the team’s ace pitcher and part‑time third baseman, bringing “a big bat to plate” that they expect to add power to the lineup while also consistently showing up as a very hard worker with a good attitude, big smile and a team‑first mindset. With that core and a summer’s worth of intense work already banked, the Lady Warriors believe they are ready to take a clear step forward in competitiveness and results this fall.
