“I am very excited about the upcoming spring season,” said head coach Madelyn Lehr-Bushers. “With the addition of two very promising freshman to the team this school year and our senior leading the way, I am looking forward to some low team scores.”

Leading Idabel’s squad is senior Ronald Deramus, the team’s proven performer with state experience. “Ronald is a senior this year,” Lehr-Bushers said. “He made it to the state tournament last year and is expected to make it again this year.” Deramus provides veteran leadership and consistency as the Warriors aim to post competitive scores throughout the spring campaign.

Junior James Carper stands out as the underclassman to watch, bringing dedication and steady improvement to the lineup. “JR has been playing golf for a few years now is very committed to the game,” Lehr-Bushers said. His commitment positions him as a key piece in Idabel’s push for low team totals this season.

Rounding out the spotlight is Ethan Stone, recognized as the FFA Student of the Month for his work ethic both on the course and in extracurriculars. “Ethan is also very committed to the game and works day in day out on his golf game,” Lehr-Bushers said. “He is also very involved in FFA and has been a part of several opening and closing ceremonies contest where our chapter has placed.” Stone’s dual dedication strengthens the Warriors’ depth and team culture.

With a blend of senior experience from Deramus and committed younger players like Carper and Stone—plus two promising freshmen—coach Lehr-Bushers has high expectations for Idabel’s spring performance. The Warriors enter the season poised for low scores and strong showings on the links.
